| Mexico's most significant national holiday, it begins the evening of September 15 with the President's cry (El Grito) of "Viva Mexico" from the balcony of the National Palace. Locals respond with calls of "Viva!" Fireworks, folk dancing and mariachi bands follow. The next day offers parades, speeches, family picnics and more. Event held in Cabo San Lucas. |
